Mizoram election results 2023, ZPM fights back, defeats deputy CM
In the 2023 Mizoram election results, Chief Minister Zoramthanga was behind Zoram Peoples Movement candidate Lalthansanga by a margin of 640 votes in the Aizawl East I seat. In the preliminary trends of the 2023 Mizoram assembly election results on Monday morning, the Zoram People's Movement (ZPM), the opposition party, took the lead over the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF). The ZPM surpassed the MNF when the initial trends indicated that Chief Minister Zoramthanga's party was ahead as the ballot papers were being counted.
